Intangible Data

Data has become a proven intangible asset. Following the industrial revolution, in the 19^th-20^th century, the Information Revolution, caused mainly by the increasing calculating speed of the microprocessor and the personalized devices it powered, was to be next. Quickly however, it became clear that processing speeds and device usability was not enough, raw data is needed to make useful decisions. Content, created from fact or fiction, is essential to providing results, the seed of which is raw or source data. Gathering and analyzing the raw data produces information. Content, which must be further queried and tested to form actionable intelligence, which drives learned decisions to achieve the desired results.

The investment value of Land is currently being replaced by Data Investments. Lands, the subject of many wars out of world history books is losing its glitter, forth over by Monarchs and Religious leaders, for its surface farming and mining values. Data generating information and leading to intelligence coming out of the nation's Auditor General Office, Central Statistical Office and Central Bank, which is used to formulate ecological, social and economic development strategies, make knowledge based decisions and set implementation timelines, must be trusted by all groups of the society. Groups intended to distribute profits to its single or many owners via dividend payouts, so called (Profit-Sharing) private or public companies. Groups organized to keep profits for its future operations, so called Non-Profits or (Profit-Retaining). Labeling persons with predetermined references; expectations and gossip without listening to this person’s opinion of themselves. Unexplained grading of individuals by others promoting a culture of caste. And judgments made based on financial power not moral integrity. Identifying opportunities, describing the targeted market using current market data, adjusting the product offerings, employing scientific market testing results, building the organization’s image, competing for customers’ loyalty and guarding against espionage must all be address in the organization’s strategic plan. Respectfully, without these guiding policies and decisions on which actions are implemented, such visits are not only wasteful but are downright damaging.

Government Waste

The ideal function of democratically elected Governments and its quasi-government agencies is to set policies, approve development plans and facilitate implementation. While it should be the responsibility of an extremely motivated profit making private sector to bring a high level of efficiency and urgency to any task. The private sector must be encouraged to compete for research contracts to guide Governments’ policies, to submit development plans for Governments’ approvals or to perform tasks that add value to Governments’ facilitation activities.

Leading Leaders

We all play a role in leadership. No one is a permanent leader. The process is constantly shifting from Discuss, to Decide to Do, utilizing Experts, Executives and Everybody Else. Better vs. Best

I write because everybody wants to teach or give unsolicited advice. Advice and opinions on every topic under the sun, before knowing the abilities and capabilities of their audience. Assuming that, only they have answers and solutions and that, you should listen without interruptions. A highly skilled and experienced aircraft pilot must sit quietly as a highly enthusiastic hobbyist explains the cause of a recent plane crash. The discussion may progress much better if questions are asked about the listener and in turn, interchange talking and listening. Much better, if decency and respect are employed and all parties engage in learning rather than teaching.
