Complex academic research papers can simply be put and understood by pointing out the ills of society: People trampling upon each other in the pursuit of wealth, power and status, instead of helping, supporting and assisting each other in the search of Happiness, Peace and Respect. Persons forced through a rigid and socially damming education system, who are tested, failed and abandoned, instead of guided towards a Lifelong Love of Learning, will attack rather than build the society. Populations missing or disrespecting anyone of Life’s four main roles needed to form a functioning society; Developing, Inspiring, Administering and Building, is doomed to fail. Publics that are denied full access to essential services due to hate, discrimination and a lack of funds to fair justice, contributes to societal failure.

Building character and molding integrity is to be exposed to social rights and wrongs, through moral teachings infused in the young developing brain, resulting in ethical behaviour. All improvement processes are driven by entrepreneurial ideas, from multiple sources of persons, with a Lifelong Love of Learning and a burning desire to strengthen their society. Attacks upon your adult character and integrity, by persons seeking to understand your decisions, will demand social communications and interactions under advance interrogation, not by launching counter attacks. Ethical Behaviour, builds and protects your ‘Good Name’ opportunities from slander and personal attacks, in doing right and supporting truth.

Leadership Crisis

In a democracy, the electorate votes to elect moral and ethical persons to serve in leadership roles. Not to enrich themselves or to win the next election, but to collectively make life better for their society. Such leadership must avoid misfortunes, wars or insurgencies but be constantly prepared for natural disasters and to put down external or internal threats to the nation. This leadership must prevent but prepare for public health emergencies. The leadership must instill a lifelong Love of Learning in and across the population. All to inspire confidence throughout the society, in its laws, its policies, its infrastructure and its revenue generating, economic drivers.

Understanding that society effects everything in an individual’s life. And that politicians are communicators between specialists and the public. Hence, accept that public basic survival needs can only be addressed by such experts. The public gets to choose their representatives and should know which Experts have the politician’s ear. Or should the public also vote for the Expert?

Public Lessons

The public must never be allowed to take #Education for granted. Highly trained and experienced professionals, hearing a calling and employing the most modern tools, techniques and procedures, are essential to the preservation of knowledge. The foundation of a Lifelong Love of Learning, at an individual’s own speed, is generally prior to and includes Early Childhood Education (age 0-5). At the Primary Grades (age 5-11), students must be encouraged to explore Critical Thinking methods, while learning social skills. In Secondary Grades (age 12-17), students must focus on problem solving, as learned from historical lessons improved upon by each generation. All tertiary adult education, vocational or academic, trains students to research, analyze, test, present, criticize and manage with confidence.

Electing and selecting a few persons from the bowels of society, where they reside and serve their community, to craft laws, rules and regulations. And others, independent thinkers, highly qualified and experienced professionals to implement, effectively and efficiently and adjudicate fairly. A Perfect World of Moral Leaders.

2020 and Beyond

People are the only true source to continuously improve living standards (Sustainable Development); ideas to industries, ownership and jobs, taxes to public services, growth and progress, A Happy Society. However, egos and greed are part of that Entrepreneurial Development mix, seeking individual awards and rewards for life changing accomplishments. Achievements which places the individual in a class of the few rather than the many. (Selfishness destroys Nations) Persons that will fight, climb over each other, to win no matter who or how many lose. While, putting Money before Morals leaving many people behind with derogatory labels, unable to earn and maintain a basic standard of living, dangerously widening the wealth gap and loosening morals.

People born into Poverty

Economic Opportunities, Jobs, decent work for unskilled workers, which pays a national minimum wage, that is a living wage, able to support a basic standard of living. Many people, in society, that are offspring of poor, vulnerable or disadvantaged parents will find themselves repeating the same behaviors, trapping their own children in a circle of poverty. This cycle can be broken by a mix of simple policies aimed to eradicate poverty. The mainstay of which is described as “Earn to Learn”. People born into Poverty, who find themselves as an unskilled and untalented adult, must be afforded such options.

HV-education

How people Learn. Many theses on education has examined the brain part ways to retention and concluded that creating curiosity or the Love of Learning is key in the development of an educated, highly skilled adult. From ‘Early Childhood’ to ‘Choice of Higher Education’ which limits, well rounded students to a single discipline, and a wage-earning career path. The System is guided by Employment Driven Education researched and implemented strategies to achieve heightened levels of Productivity. Followed by Lessons designed in Horizontal Vertical (HV) education to quickly empower highly trained and skilled personnel in fields outside of their primary discipline.

The Resilient Caribbean

Whether man-made or not, the science is clear, the Climate is rapidly changing. Changing weather patterns result in; Heat Waves, Forest Fires, very Hot days in the dry seasons, strong Earthquakes and cold foggy nights, stormy rainy seasons, rising sea levels, all being; are proof of this Common Enemy, Climate Change. But one must also recognize and understand the risk to the population via poor leadership, inaction, corruption and unrest, as Politics and Justice must embrace and protect all. Adapting to this change will require; #EconomicDrivers; to foster new ideas, innovation and investment; #Infrastructure; to strengthen and build with different and better methods of construction; #Education; to develop talents and skills; #Healthcare; to manage communal and chronic diseases; #Security; to reduce violence and the illicit drug trade: And other Numerous #SYNERGIES.

Urgent Actions

Human Beings are dangerous to their own existence. The solutions cannot be anyone individual’s effort. It will take a multi-prong approach driven and funded by Economic Drivers SYNERGIES, converting raw materials into sellable products. Infrastructure SYNERGIES combining structures, water, fuels, electricity, communications, transportation, with its maintenance and operations. Education SYNERGIES exist to build tolerant and peaceful communities, by developing skills and talents, from historical knowledge. Healthcare SYNERGIES involves treatment and recuperation, safety regulations, nutrition and exercise to enhance wellness. Security SYNERGIES must incorporate justice, law and order, punishment and rehabilitation, protection of people and property.

Policies before Politics

Creative ideas and policies, to address and to better lifestyles, must be the driving force strengthening any candidate and party messages, to improve local and national politics. A futuristic manifesto, a strategic plan, structured on Human Rights; inclusive of birth and child rights and supported by economic rights. Requiring Lawmakers, elected and selected, to legislate, oversee, investigate and strengthen, constitutional rights, make new laws, rules and regulations, which can be defended. The judiciary elected or appointed to interpret the existing laws, to judge adherence and punish wrong doers of the orders which governs society. And the executive, selected and elected to operate within the existing law, to develop, implement and change public policies. Hence, calling for policies before politics as the nation governmental structure.

The Me, Me, Me Economy

Selfishness has no place in Success. The Success of any Economic Driver is based upon demand and supply. Demand created by people; consumers, users, customers, retailers and resellers. Supply is also generated by people; extractors of raw materials, transporters, manufacturers and processors of inputs. This supply and demand rules across all basic living components. Infrastructure demands architectural, engineering, designs, building materials and construction skills to Supply housing, roads, vehicles, industrial, commercial and entertainment spaces. Similarly, Security, Health and Education all need people, groups and teams, horizontally and vertically integrated, to provide and produce any measure of success. The selfish actor can only cause breakdowns.
