In a democracy, the electorate votes to elect moral and ethical
persons to serve in leadership roles. Not to enrich themselves or to win the
next election, but to collectively make life better for their society. Such
leadership must avoid misfortunes, wars or insurgencies but be constantly
prepared for natural disasters and to put down external or internal threats to
the nation. This leadership must prevent but prepare for public health
emergencies. The leadership must instill a lifelong Love of Learning in and
across the population. All to inspire confidence throughout the society, in its
laws, its policies, its infrastructure and its revenue generating, economic
drivers.
Leadership must include Foreign Service Professionals to engage in
worldwide diplomacy. Diplomats assigned and embedded in, to study and work
alongside Trade Negotiators, to target foreign markets, understand their
culture and anticipate problems. A highly trained and always prepared and
equipped Intelligence Unit and Armed Force is needed to guard and defend the
nation’s borders, to protect the state from insurgents and to put-down internal
uprisings. Natural Disasters preparedness must simulate and instruct people how
to survive. Such plans must start with strong Leadership blended into Community
Policing, so that neighborhoods can unite before, during and after a
devastating catastrophe. Hence, our Leaders must keep us safe!
This is not socialism but must contain essential elements which
safeguards the public. Leadership must refer to Health Rules and Regulations,
which must clean, disinfect, control pest, monitor and inspect all spaces,
inclusive of the readiness of Hospitals, Privately or Publicly owned. Such
rules must encourage general public wellness. Programs, such as; physical and
mental exercise, immunization, regular check-ups, designed to maintain a
healthy population and for early diagnosis and timely treatments. These
regulations must allow leadership to quickly take precedence over emergency
rooms and services. Implementing free essential service to stabilize accident
and disaster victims or to isolate infectious patients to reduce contagion. Hence,
our Leaders must keep us well!
A Lifelong Love of Learning must start with basic communication
which must be publicly inclusive. Education for all, not limited to an ability
to pay or to an individual’s rate of development. Persons born into poverty
depend heavily on elected leaders to champion they access to early childhood
education. And, having the ability, at any time in life, to benefit from
further or higher education, must be afforded the right to continue learning.
Implementing free access to all levels of education will clearly benefit
society in many ways, the most important being the skill and talent which fits
persons into the nation’s revenue earning sector or industries. Hence, our
Leaders must keep us learning!
The nation's revenue generating activities are encouraged and
facilitated via Economic Drivers, which designs, implements and reviews the
conditions for investment, employment and, the resulting, taxation earnings.
It, therefore, falls to the elected leaders to create the conditions that would
provide its population with a sustainable and steady lifestyle and earn the
public’s trust. The Rule of Law is critical to the peace and prosperity of the
nation. Effective Policies must be employed to improve existing circumstances.
And the Leadership must be guided by science and utilize proven technologies
and Resilient Infrastructure to be globally competitive. The leadership must
expand economic drivers and diversify revenue earnings. Hence, our Leaders must
keep us earning!
