2020 and Beyond

People are the only true source to continuously improve living standards (Sustainable Development); ideas to industries, ownership and jobs, taxes to public services, growth and progress, A Happy Society. However, egos and greed are part of that Entrepreneurial Development mix, seeking individual awards and rewards for life changing accomplishments. Achievements which places the individual in a class of the few rather than the many. (Selfishness destroys Nations) Persons that will fight, climb over each other, to win no matter who or how many lose. While, putting Money before Morals leaving many people behind with derogatory labels, unable to earn and maintain a basic standard of living, dangerously widening the wealth gap and loosening morals.

A Happy Society

The ills, in society, are not recent. But has been developed over many generations of Human failures. Parental let-down, Educational disaster and failure to define success, passes on from generation to generation. Demanding acceptable behavior rather than offering guidance. Labeling persons with predetermined references; expectations and gossip without listening to this person’s opinion of themselves. Unexplained grading of individuals by others promoting a culture of caste. And judgments made based on financial power not moral integrity. A Strategic Plan, with a clear long-term vision of the desired outcome and an attainable and measurable mission, tasks by competent, objective-driven, goal achieving, talented individuals are needed to inspire hope and to better society.

Moral Leadership

Should a nation’s electorate vote, directly for its moral leader, its Head of State, its President? A President, well known for decency, with no political biased, with the power to censure and rebuke public speech and ethical behavior of persons in public office. But more importantly educating and leading the nation by example; listening and guiding public interactions. Leading the nation’s society, away from hate full acts, hate speech and hateful thoughts and towards progressive ideas, workable improvements and constructive remedies, is the mission. Clearly the nation would need to be more tolerant and open-minded on individual rights. Before addressing the nation’s wealth gap.

Decency

To prevent Wars, Insurrections, Civil Disputes, or broken relationships and preserve peace, talking is very necessary. Firstly, identifying topics of concern to all participants, both of agreement and disagreement, must be disclosed. Secondly, stating each party’s current thinking, the present processes and benefits, identifying the thoughts on what must be done and why change. Understanding others’ position, while politely disagreeing with it, is the key to pushing for and fine tuning a more favorable position and flexibility towards any new position. Each party must envisage the desired outcome of any negotiation, from its inception, as Consensus seeking or to reach a Win-Win settlement.
