Power is a mix of Knowledge and Network. Many in
leadership positions display on to others, that sense of entitlement, which
says; pass a few tests, build trust, produce work, be graded by your peers and
be rewarded with appointments, is all there is to attain Happiness. Leading a
team that achieves its preset mission, being a team member that produces its
goals and objectives, being a support specialist or a routine service
performer, will provide income and maybe savings and investments, but will
never deliver Happiness. Obviously, Power, over material and human resources,
is required in each role. However, only from giving freely of yourself, brings
true Happiness.
Many learn to read and write, to communicate, to
count and calculate but it is what you know that sets you apart from others. Basic
education is to teach you to learn. Hence you can learn about many fields of
endeavor, selecting one as a career path. A specialty researched skill with
time spent developing experience. A finely tuned talent with guidance from
others possessing similar and supportive talents. Such a career, employing your
special skills or talents, should earn you money to pay basic living expenses,
to improve your lifestyle and gain you respect and Power.
What you do with your Power; special skills or
talents, should make you happy. Much more than improving your standard of
living, your constant learning will help you grow. Personal reflection and
development must instill the essential confidence in your knowledge and allow
you to encourage and mentor others in pursuit of similar expertise. This
guidance you are willing to share with others, at their stage of a willingness
to learn, must not be limited to a career pathway but must also include life
lessons. It is the imparting of these lessons, borne out of your, very unique,
living experience, which fuels your Happiness.
Many seek out social gatherings and interactions to
present and introduce themselves, but it is who you know and trust, that
enhances your image. Finding the right associates, persons with general skills
and talents in common, is key to your own personal and working development.
Many of whom may serve as mentors, providing that model of who you want to be,
while also sharing other types of interest. Your Network and support mechanism
must further expand into and across multi discipline avenues, forcing knowledge
to consistently grow and wisdom to take root, maintaining a notable reputation
of respect and Power.
Who knows and trust you; should make you happy.
Family and Friends are very important but there are many more people, deserving
of your attention. Problems and Losses are not setbacks but lessons, which
strengthen your existence, and should be Shared openly and freely, incorporated
into every human interaction. Expand who you care about by offering the value
of pain, the virtue of time and the vigor of sharing. This requires you to
assign a vision of where you want to be, how you will get there, and who you
will carry with you. It is the achievement of your Personal Purpose, which
brings you joy and Happiness.
