King’s Issues

So you want to lead. This is not about living in a palace, protected, served and chauffeured locally or abroad, it is not about meeting and mixing with other world leaders, what it is about is constantly addressing and improving the peoples’ living conditions. All issues, revenue, production, infrastructure, education and health, must be dealt with at the same time to raise the standard of living for all the people from the poorest, the smallest to the richest, the biggest.

Education and Health are base issues affecting all other issues. Early childhood education must address; poorly trained or absent teachers, out dated curriculums held up by academic debate over changes or an entirely new curriculum, early diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities. Adolescent education must focus on; creating a desire to learn, responsible adult supervision of teenagers to guide them away from crime, creating healthy diet and exercise habits. Adult education must encourage easy access to prudent information, polite discourse and the generation of new ideas. While, health issues across the entire population, must incorporate regular examinations, effective treatments, safety, security and justice throughout life.

Infrastructure is the backbone of all issues. These issues are not only about building new but must address maintenance and development concerns in such areas as, water and energy distribution, communication and transportation networks, hospitals and health clinics, schools and police stations, community and sporting centers, office buildings and homes. If, locally trained engineers are off the job dealing with health issues, while new infrastructure is being planned and built, and repairs and maintenance are being carried-out, the money spend to educate such professionals is wasted and in fact more money has to be spend on treatments. Replace engineers with police officers, teachers or nurses, in the last example given, and it becomes clearer. Hence, it must be accepted that trained and experience people form a vital part of the infrastructure and must be protected and encourage to stay and serve.

Production must be efficient in a free market world. Issues of poor development planning, out dated technologies and mismanagement can make exporting uncompetitive and increase the levels of imports. All economies are based on the supply of raw materials and if such materials cannot be produced, at the quality or quantity need, at home, it must be imported, making the Agriculture, Mining & Extraction sector the key component or mover of the world’s economy. The chief decision-maker must guide the people to efficiently produce exportable goods and/or offer locally based services (financial, tourism & entertainment) to generate foreign income, in order to off-set the unavoidable import (foreign goods and services) bills and hence, grow the economy.

Revenue pays the past, present and future bills. Government Revenue should come from earning foreign exchange via exports, tourism, and royalties, local taxing of business activity via a competitive corporation tax rates and sales tax on non essentials, not from personal income tax which is very hard and expensive to collect.

Do you still want the job?
